The United Methodist Church is a connectional church. Each congregation is a part of mission of the whole denomination, organized in regional "Annual Conference."
Bishop Martin D. McLee is the Resident Bishop who presides over the New York Annual Conference. The Annual Conference is made up of an equal number of clergy and lay delegates from each of the 400+ congregations within the geographic bounds of the Conference and meets for a multi-day session each June at Hofstra University on Long Island.
